PvZ Lawn Plant Roster: Every Demo Plant Explained
The demo gives you 11 plants and 13 levels to master them. Knowing what each plant is for matters more than reflexes: pick the wrong lineup for a night level and no amount of fast tapping saves you. Here is the full roster, plant by plant.
Economy plants
Sunflower is your day-game income. Two columns of sunflowers by the end of the first wave funds everything else. Sun-shroom takes the night shift: it starts small and grows into a serious producer, which is why our Sunflower vs Sun-shroom breakdown exists. Rule of thumb: never skip economy on the first two waves.
Damage dealers
Peashooter is the honest workhorse, cheap and steady. Snow Pea trades a little damage for a chill that slows zombies, which multiplies the value of everything behind it. Repeater doubles a lane's output for a premium price. Our three-way shooter comparison settles which one earns its slot.
Defense and traps
Wall-nut is the wall everything hides behind, and it visibly cracks as it takes damage so you can time replacements. Potato Mine needs a few seconds to arm, then deletes whatever steps on it. Cherry Bomb clears a 3x3 zone after a short fuse. Timing these two right is a skill of its own, covered in our explosives timing guide.
Specialists
Chomper eats the zombie in front of it, then spends a long chew being useless. Puff-shroom costs nothing and puffs short-range spores, the perfect night filler. Fume-shroom sprays through screen doors and lines of zombies, making it the night-game MVP.
How to build a lineup
Start every level with economy, add one damage type, then layer defense. Our sun economy guide shows the opening that funds all of this by wave two. As levels unlock more slots, specialize: snow peas for control lanes, repeaters for kill lanes, fume-shrooms the moment gravestones appear.
