Sunflower vs Sun-Shroom in PvZ Lawn: Which Earns More

Two economists, two shifts. Sunflower owns the day, sun-shroom owns the night, and mixing them up is the classic beginner error.

Sunflower: the day queen

Steady, immediate, no ramp-up. Plant it and it produces at full rate from the first cycle. On day levels there is never a reason to pick anything else for economy. Two columns fund the whole game.

Sun-shroom: the night investment

Starts small, literally: a sun-shroom's first cycles are weak. But it grows, and a mature sun-shroom out-produces what you would expect for its cost. The catch is timing, which is why our night guide insists on planting them on wave one.

The math that matters

On day levels: sunflower, always. Sky sun plus instant production beats any ramp-up. On night levels: sun-shroom, always. Sky sun is zero, so the only question is how fast your shrooms mature. Planting sunflowers at night is the demo's most common economy mistake.

Pairing them with defense

Economy plants do not defend themselves. While your sunflowers or shrooms grow, puff-shrooms hold night lanes for free, and peashooters hold day lanes cheaply. The full picture lives in our sun economy guide and the plant roster breakdown.
