Cherry Bomb and Potato Mine Timing in PvZ Lawn

Explosives are the demo's panic buttons, and panic is what wastes them. Both need timing; both reward patience.

Cherry Bomb: the 3x3 eraser

After planting, the fuse burns briefly, then a 3x3 zone disappears. The mistake is using it on two zombies. Wait for the cluster: buckethead packs, door pushes, the wave that broke your wall-nut. One well-timed bomb saves a lane; three panicked bombs starve your economy.

Potato Mine: the armed trap

Mines need a few seconds to arm, shown by the rising indicator. Plant it in the path of an approaching zombie, not under one already on top of it. Unarmed mines get eaten for free. The sweet spot: plant as the zombie enters the tile two spaces away.

Pairing them with control

Snow peas are an explosive's best friend: slowed zombies arrive in tighter packs, right when your bomb is ready. Wall-nuts hold the pack in the blast zone. This is the control-plus-burst pattern our beginner builds use.

Cooldown discipline

Both have long seed packet cooldowns. Firing a bomb means it is gone for the next wave, so ask: is this wave the emergency, or is the next one? The zombie guide helps you read which waves truly threaten.
